German Vocabulary Quizzes: This page lists 40 free vocabulary quizzes organized by topic — from everyday life and travel to business, emotions, and culture. Each quiz tests real German words at a specific level (A1–B2) so you can find out what you already know and where you need more practice.
Knowing grammar rules is only half the battle — you also need the words. These quizzes test whether you actually remember the vocabulary, or whether you’re still translating in your head.
I’ve sorted all 40 quizzes by topic so you can focus on exactly what you need. If a topic feels too easy, skip to the next level. If you score below 70%, go back to the vocabulary article for that topic, review the words, and try again.
💡 Teacher’s Tip from Niko:
Every noun in these quizzes has a gender — der, die, or das. When you learn new vocabulary, always learn the article together with the noun. If you just memorize “Tisch = table” without “der Tisch”, you’ll struggle with every grammar rule later.
